Passion for College?

Passion is an element that is implicit but have enormous affect toward our lives as individuals. I interpret that passion is something we like and when we run it, we’ll enjoy the process – neither good nor bad.

All this time we know that passion is a guide to determine what job that we run into. But in reality, it is not just for that. Passion is also influential toward college activities.

Maybe for this moments, there are lot of my friends who wants to pursue their study to the higher level of education (at least in my current circle). We are faced by various requisites such as diploma’s certificate, transcript, recommendation letter, essays, etc. But unfortunately, we don’t know exactly what reasons make us elected or rejected.

Based on article i read "The Passion of The Applicant" by Josh Stephens, it was mentioned that an admission staff would deeply see the passion of the applicants. They will not appraise someone only based on value but also passion.

I have no idea why passion has a special place in appraiser. But... its appraise also makes sense if we deeply observe. What i know, passion is our fuel in doing something. When we do something that we like, how difficult it is, how long it will be, we’ll still run into with pleasure because passion isn’t looking for result but rather the process, how our attitude enjoys every process.

This will be very important for us who wants to pursue to the higher level of education. It will be very difficult for them to survive in an environment they don’t really like. It will be also difficult for them to dwell on the area of the study (in this case) that they don’t like. An appraiser certainly wants to get the best quality of the applicants.

Therefore, to make us selected, we have to know ourselves more further, to find out what our passion is. Is it art? Business? Research? Medicine? Or whatever. Don’t choose the wrong way because of our ignorance! By knowing our passion, hopefully, we are able to highly dedicate in the area that we wants or remains so that, in the future, we can produce something more better and bigger – for ourselves or others.
